Tallinna Kuristiku Gymnasium is a Public School which provides all levels of education (including pre-school, primary, secondary and upper-secondary).The school was opened in 1984 and starting from that time the number of students is constantly increasing and by this moment it reached 930. There are 90 employees, 72 of whom are teachers. Our school promotes collaborative learning practices with staff, students and parents, actively participating in different types of projects. We are currently finishing Erasmus+ KA219 project and we have been the part of the ECO school programme since 2017. Our school has got a Green flag. Environmental and well-being subjects are implemented into our school curriculum. The main priorities of our school are: education quality improvement, professionalism and reliability. Our school is developing, reputable, competitive and well-performing school, that educates students to become dignified citizens of our country, European Union and entire world. Our school motivation is to promote the ideas of healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle. At the same time the topic of social integration is in number of motivating priorities. Even though we are quite aware of the global situation and what exactly healthy lifestyle involves, we do not know how it works with different cultures and people in different regions. We were motivated by our cultural exchanges. Our main aim is to develop students`competences in the topics related to environment and wellbeing. We believe that there is much to learn from other partners and we have something to share with them, that is why social integration is very important. Language skills can also be improved by taking part in the project We are interested in strengthening cooperation and collaboration, gaining and promoting useful knowledge, skills, practices and experience. We are also ready to contribute our part, our contribution can be the following: Our students can teach students from partner countries some skills which might not be popular in partner countries due to climate differences (for example cross-country skiing). At the same time they can get practical visualisation of so called "global warming", because lack of snow is what we experience nowadays, but we still hope to continue doing this activity in winters. If the weather conditions do not allow to organise skiing, participants can go skating. Mrs Natalja Kedrov will be a key person in running the project, but in case he leaves her post two teachers can substitute her: Linda Veski (linda.veski@kuristiku.ee); Olga Modina (olga.modina@kuristiku.ee). The application form is shared with them.
