Bil Schools have campuses in 7 regions of the country and Bil Demre is located in the south. We are a private secondary school in Antalya, Turkey. It is one of the campuses of Bil Schools in Turkey. We have 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grades and we also have a kindergarten, primary school and high school in our campus. Our secondary school has eighty students. Our school is located in Demre, Antalya. Our town Demre is a seaside town in Turkey. It has a lot of beaches and historical places.
Our students learn English and Russian which are given as a second language in our school. We are trying to improve their language skills. We, as a Bil English team, so much care about the importance of bilingual language learning which includes Turkish and English. That’s why we try to create our own style of English teaching and learning process. Students also join social clubs such as drama, robotics, folk dance, art, sports, clubs, etc in our school. We took part in many social activities although we aren’t a big school.We implement STEM curricula and put emphasis on learning by doing. Our students are involved in social and cultural activities as well as arts and sports. With outdoor activities, sports, music chorous&band, effective foreign language teaching, dance club, collaboration with universities, Demre Bil is willing to contribute to the Erasmus project. For a healthy life and awareness of illnesses, we have started a Cancer Awareness campaign, created a slogan; ‘Don’t be afraid of your differences, create awareness.’ Other activities are to collect garbage on the seaside in Demre, to examine sand lilies which are in danger of extinction in the world. Our motivation to take part in this project comes from our educational perspective. We'd like to gain more experience as well as sharing our expertise in many fields. Bil Colleges are titled as School of Wolrd Innovation, therefore our education activities follow innovations in education. We focus on developing our students' skills to cope with the challenges of the 21st century and with this project we want to contribute to our students' development. Key Staff involved and their expertise based on this project: Ela Orhan; is the School Principal. She has been a school administrator for about five years in our school. She is an Art teacher, too. Holds certificates on Creativity- Engagement in the 21st century classroom. Eda Bilgin; is an English Language Teacher and head of the department. She has been teaching for 12 years in Demre. She has experience as a MUN coordinator. Nuray Arslan is a science teacher . She has been working as a teacher for 8 years. She has been volunteer in many projects which are related to STEM and health. Pınar Gülden is an English language teacher. Studied in the Department of English Language and Literature.Has experienced the Erasmus exchange program and studied 'Anglistik, Amerikanistik and Anglophone Culturen' at Saarland University
